We’re a small, family-owned business with a big story and an even bigger passion for creating calm in the chaos. Our own journey started back in 2011, when two very different dreamers crossed paths at a boat show. One of us was chasing big business dreams and globe-trotting adventures, while the other imagined the simplicity of suburban bliss. But life had its own plans, and our paths became one – a beautifully nontraditional route full of surprises, detours, and lessons on what truly matters.

Fast forward a decade, and we were living what many might call "the dream" – a cozy house in Kansas City, two spunky kids, a desk job, and a home filled with creativity and critters. Yet, when life threw us a wake-up call in the form of a health scare, we realized we’d drifted from the unconventional life we once craved. It was time to rediscover balance, joy, and the spark that comes from doing things differently.

That’s when Desktop Tranquility was born.

What started with a few small gestures – zen gardens, terrariums, candles – to ease stress and bring beauty into daily life soon became so much more. We fell in love with the idea of creating spaces that feel like a breath of fresh air. Tranquil, meaningful environments that remind us to pause, recharge, and reconnect. And we want to share that with you.

Every product you see in our shop has a story. It’s been thoughtfully picked, tested, and loved in our own home before we share it with you. From zen gardens that offer tiny moments of stillness to candles that warm a room with their glow, these are items we believe in because they’ve brought joy to our family. We hope they’ll do the same for yours.

Hello, my name is Paeton Bickett! I am a full-time student at Northwest Missouri State University working towards my Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies with a minor in Business Management/Administration.

I am working as an assistant for Desktop Tranquility as I not only grow my passion for the business world but also gain experience with graphic/web design, social media, copyright, SEO, and marketing.

Outside of work and school, I enjoy reading, singing, spending time with friends and family, or traveling. I consider myself to be hardworking, creative, and optimistic about anything I do, whether it’s personal or work-related.

With that being said, I can’t wait to advance my knowledge and skills in the field, and I look forward to working with you!
